This project explores the fundamental architectural element—the room—by examining two distinct spaces: a private room and a public room.
Concept | Student Work | 2024
Despite modern architecture’s efforts to “destroy the box,” the room remains a vital, legible space that provides security, protection, and a sense of place, whether within a natural or urban landscape. My aim is to challenge conventional boundaries, questioning whether we are truly inside or outside a building.
To achieve this, I will explore various construction systems, informed by critical site analysis and significant architectural precedents. My design decisions will be reflected in both drawings and models, with the drawings serving as precise representations of the formal, spatial, and structural organization of the project. The plans, sections, elevations, and the required axonometric will be carefully coordinated to convey the three-dimensional nature of the design.
